How to Remove Tree Sap From Your Carpet and Upholstery
Do you like to hike? Maybe you started a new hobby for the new year, like camping or gardening, and that’s great! We all love the outdoors, until we track it indoors. Here’s an easy way to get some unconventional stains out of your carpet and upholstery.
How to Remove Tree Sap From Your Carpet and Upholstery:
First things first, remove what you can before applying any cleaning solutions. To do so on tough areas you can’t throw in the washing machine, grab a bag of ice and place it over the stained area. The goal is to freeze the sap, and once it dries, scrape off as much as you can with either a spoon or a dull knife, or even a toothbrush.
Once you’ve removed as much as possible, we’ll mix two items together to clean the area. Take two teaspoons of Tide Liquid (either Ultra Stain Release or Original option will do, depending on the severity of the stain) and one cup of hot water. Mix and scrub the solution into the stained area by either using a toothbrush or a soft-bristle brush. Let the solution sit for five minutes.
Once time is up, wipe up the solution with a paper towel. Use a fresh, clean, damp towel to wipe the area and any excess cleaning solution. Finally, use a fresh dry towel (paper or cloth) to dry the area thoroughly. If the stain is still visible, repeat these steps.
Let the area dry overnight. The next day, run the vacuum over the area if needed.
